Urban Green launches new Avant-Garden Pizza
On January 15, 2012, Urban Green Cuisine launches a new line of savory pizza with select produce harvested from urban farms and procured from local produce located throughout Southern California. The new pizza line reinforces Urban Green Cuisines’ commitment to the localized food movement and healthy living with the launch of a pizza that provides balanced nutrition. These on-site baked flat bread pizzas provide farmers’ market guests a fresh alternative to the usual prepared food offering, contain locally grown herbs and vegetables, and will initially come in three simple options vegan, vegetarian, and meat.
“We are thrilled to introduce this Urban Green Cuisine line extension at the Mar Vista Farmers’ Market – an offering we believe mirrors the taste and values of this active Westside community,” said, Rickey Smith, Principal & Founder, Urban Green LLC. We are especially excited to cultivate perennial herbs native to California such as Oxalis albicans commonly know as California Yellow sorrel to create new and exciting flavors to the traditional pizza.
